NEWS: On 03/20/2007 Dan was awarded a patent (# 7191552) from the United States Patent Office for his invention, Gradient Density Soling. Gradient Density Soling is designed to rectify the negative effects caused by wearing soft soled footwear. Shoes modified to test this soling are more stable, more durable and are 10%-20% lighter than the unmodified originals.
Dan Husom is the owner and primary practitioner and has over 20 years of experience with footwear and foot health. He is a board certified pedorthist, orthopedic shoe technician and a certified orthotist. Dan served as a clinical associate of Abbott Northwestern Foot and Ankle Clinic and spent eight years with Northwestern Artificial Limb and Brace Company/Novacare Orthotics and Prosthetics. He has developed and maintained professional, long-standing relationships with the medical community.
After receiving initial training from Northwestern University in Chicago, Dan has traveled throughout the United States, attending seminars and classes in orthotics and prosthetics, maintaining his role as a leader in the field. Dan served as a clinical assistant to a vascular and wound care physician and has been granted privileges from St. Cloud, Rice and Douglas County hospitals.
